Course Description

Physics 183B is an on-line calculus-based physics course, for students majoring in engineering or physical sciences. Topics include: kinematics, Newtonian dynamics, statics, momentum and energy conservation, rotational motion, gravity, oscillatory motion, fluids and elasticity.

Prerequisites

MTH 132 or MTH 152H or LBS 118.

Helproom Hours

Strosacker Learning Center, room 1248 BPS. (Due to the remodeling of the Learning Center, room 1240 BPS will also be used as a helproom. The sign on the door of the Learning Center will always clearly tell where the helproom is.)

Tuesday: 1:00 - 4:00 PM, 6:00 - 9:00 PM,
Wednesday: 1:00 - 4:00 PM, 6:00 - 9:00 PM,
Thursday: 9:00 AM - noon, 1:00 - 4:00 PM 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

Exam Information

Exam #1: June 16, Wednesday, 6-7 PM, Room 1410 BPS,
Exam #2: July 07, Wednesday, 6-7 PM, Room 1410 BPS,
Exam #3: July 28, Wednesday, 6-7 PM, Room 1410 BPS,
Final Exam: August 18, Wednesday, 6-8 PM, Room 1410 BPS.

On the midterm exams a one-sided 8.5 by 11 handwritten help sheet is allowed, on the final exam the three help sheets from the midterm exams are allowed.

Bring a calculator and two sharp #2 (HB) pencils to each exam.
