Parasitic Fungi: Symptoms of their Host Plants


Monilia cf. fructigena on cherries; - Nectria spec. (Nectria galligena or Nectria cinnabarina), the causative agent of Apple and Pear Cancer


Pear rust is caused by Gymnosporangium sabinae. The fungus belongs to the basidiomycetes. The picture shows the orange aecia. - Rhododendron infected with Pynostysanus azaleae (= Sporocybe azaleae). It belongs to the deuteromycetes (Hyphomycetes).
