Cell Wall Formation in Cells of an Onion Root Tip
|
Accumulation and orientation of vesicles at the equatorial plane during telophase.
This picture shows a cell in its telophase state. Both nuclei have already entered the interphase (G1-phase). The accumulation and the partial fusion of the vesicles is clearly recognizable. Both daughter cells display numerous mitochondria and a well-developed endoplasmatic reticulum besides the nucleus.
The completed cell wall between the daughter cells is interspersed with plasmodesmata that serve to exchange substances between neighbouring cells (D. ROBINSON, 1986)
