Wisconsin Fast Plants Kits are only available through Carolina Biological Supply Company.

Wisconsin Fast PlantsTM Kits are designed for use by up to 32 students (working in pairs). Students kits are designed for classroom demonstrations, or for use by up to six students (great for home schooling or science projects).

Each Classroom and Student Kit contains everything you will need to complete the activities, including seed, an automatic watering system, plant units (quads or pots), pollination materials, plant stakes, pot labels, fertilizer, activities, and Growing Instructions.

Wisconsin Fast PlantsTM materials are teacher friendly. The automatic watering system provides sufficient water to last for three to four days, and the slow-release fertilizer is only applied once, at planting. Many of the Classroom Kit Refills contain the expendable portions and include seed, pollination materials, stakes, labels, chemicals, fertilizer, and instructions.

NOTE: Proper lighting is essential for success with Brassica rapa; plans for a light bank are included in the Growing Instructions, or appropriate lighting systems may be purchased.

Wisconsin Fast Plants "Confetti Kit"WFP confetti kit
Grade 3 and up. Your students will learn to observe, describe, and form hypotheses in this funfilled, hands-on science kit. Our "confetti" mix of 8 or more different types of Wisconsin Fast Plants seed produces plants varying in height, color, and hairiness. Students measure, graph, name, and describe their own unique plants. Sturdy 11/2 x 2 inch plastic pots allow each student (or pair of students) to "own" a confetti garden or 2-3 plants. Kit includes detailed growing instructions, age-appropriate activities, and student worksheets. A lighting system is not included. For students working alone or 30 students working in pairs.

Population Explosion Kit

Grades 4-6. What are the factors that limit and sustain populations? Use Wisconsin Fast Plants materials to explore the 2 experimental variables, plant population density, and nutrient levels, on growth, development, and reproduction. This highly visual hands-on activity illustrates a variety of environmental, ecological and evolutionary concepts. The Demonstration Kit includes seed and planting supplies for a 4 x 4 grid of successive doublings of seed and nutrient levels. The Classroom Kit includes seed and planting materials for 5 teams of students. When class results are combined, a 5 x 5 grid of increasing plant population density and nutrient levels will result. Trial-Sized Get Acquainted Kit
Get acquainted with out unique Wisconsin Fast PlantsTM teaching system with this economical, trial-sized kit. The kit provides you with the opportunity of observing the life cycle yourself, before introducing your students to Wisconsin Fast PlantsTM materials. Shortly after planting a quad (a 4-cell unit) of seed, you'll see the seedlings emerge and begin to develop. Then, after pollinating the flowers, you'll watch as the seed pods begin to form.

Our Get Acquainted Kit contains everything you need: seed, soil, fertilizer, wicks, miniature watering system, pollination supplies, stakes, labels, plus our complete Growing Instructions booklet.

Please keep in mind that proper lighting is essential for success with Rbr plants. The minimum light requirement for this 1-quad kit is 24 hr, cool white fluorescent light, placed within several centimeters of the growing tips. (A height-adjustable 2-bulb fluorescent desk lamp may provide adequate, but not ideal, lighting.)
