        Geographic analysis

        The number of threatened species recorded for each country, and the percentage this represents of their national flora, are given in the table below. Note that a relatively high figure of threatened species for a particular country may only reflect the effort that has been made by that country in collating data, while a low figure for another country may reflect that similar efforts have not yet been undertaken in that country. On the other hand, some countries clearly have greater conservation problems than others due to a variety of reasons.

        It is of interest to note that the three countries providing complete electronic data sets are also listed as having the highest percentage of their national floras threatened.
