In this visualisation of the early development of sorghum, unprotected leaves are shown in green. Once a pesticide spray is applied, protected plant parts are shown in red. It is unrealistically assumed that the spray is completely efficient and that all plant parts present at the time of the spray become fully protected. New, unprotected, plant parts are produced by on-going growth. The decay of the pesticide is indicated by a colour change from red to yellow, and finally back to green when the pesticide is no longer effective.
