Bertha LammeBertha Lamme , born in the United States of America in 1869, was noted for her work in engineering design.

She was one of the first women graduates of an engineering degree program, graduating from Ohio State University in 1893.

After graduation, she accepted employment at Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company. It was there that she began work on the design of motors and generators.

Among the electrical generating projects attributed to Lamme is the turbogenerator at Niagara Falls. Bertha Lamme died in 1954 at the age of 85.
