Visualisation with virtual cotton

The virtual cotton model can keep track of the internal state of each plant part. Information such as the age, temperature, expression of pest resistance or amount of infection by pathogens of each plant part can be stored and regularly updated. This information can be integrated with other spatial data, such as where pests or pesticide and rain droplets land on plants, and combinations can be visualised by giving false colours to plant parts. In this simple example, leaves which are between 4 and 6 days old have been identified by colouring them blue.
